As private label roasters we know that our customers want to be assured that their coffee is sustainably grown, harvested and roasted. As the final pillar in our C.A.R.E philosophy we take environmental and social issues as seriously as the efficiency of our factory or the quality of our beans.

New facility commissioning
We’ve been very busing building the new Black Bag Roasters roasting, packing and warehousing facility out at Truganina. The brief for the Truganina facility was to be the most efficient - and sustainable - coffee roasting plant in Australia. By the end of 2023, when the solar power system has been installed, we will be well on our way to achieving this.
Onsite electricity generation, waste management, rainwater capture
A real positive of the new facility is the large roof space, prime for solar power and rainwater capture, over the next two years we aim to have 100% onsite generation of solar, rainwater capture tanks, and we will continue to refine our waste management practices to achieve and exceed our target of 75% of all waste created in the facility diverted from landfill.
Sourced Impact project
We’re currently finalising the details on our next Sourced Impact project – designed to give back to the local communities who produce the amazing coffee we source. We’ll share more information as soon as we can.
